As explained earlier, this is a tethered jailbreak which means every time you restart your iPhone, you will need to connect it with PC for tethered boot. However, this is guide for all those users who are on Mac and can’t Jailbreak your iDevice Windows PC. Follow the step by step instructions below.

• Download iOS 5.1.1 [Click Here]
• Download iOS 5.1 [Click Here]
• Download Latest Version of iTunes [Click Here]

How to Jailbreak iPhone 4, 3GS iOS 5.1.1 Using Redsn0w 0.9.10b8b [Mac]?

Download all the files from the links given above and place them in a folder on Desktop of your Mac.

Now, Double Click on “Redsn0w” app to launch it on your Mac.

As this isn’t the supported version for iOS 5.1.1 so we will need to select 5.1 in “Extras”.

Navigate to “Extras” and Click on “Select an IPSW” and select the iOS 5.1

After doing so, connect your iDevice with PC and turn it off.

Now, Hit the Jailbreak Button, Redsn0w will give you a warning, carefully read it and Hit “Next” to proceed to next step.

Select “Install Cydia” and Hit “Next”

After doing so, follow on screen instructions to put your iDevice in DFU mode.

Once the device is in DFU mode, Wait till Redsn0w finishes the task.

After successful Jailbreak, Don’t disconnect your iDevice and go back to Main Screen.

Now, Click on “Extras” and “Just Boot” to tethered boot your iDevice.

That’s it! You have successfully Jailbroken iPhone 3Gs,4, iPod Touch 3G/4G or iPad on iOS 5.1.1. using Redsn0w 0.9.10b8b
