Downgrade iOS 5.1.1 to 5.0.1 on iPhone 4, 3Gs, iPod Touch 3G, 4G and iPad [Windows]
How to Downgrade iOS 5.1.1 to 5.0.1 ? Jailbreaking has become mouse and cat show between the Apple and iOS developers. Whenever, Apple releases a new iOS, Developers try to find out a loophole to Jailbreak that version of iOS. Sometimes, they do it on the same day while on the other side it may take even months. Similarly, Apple released iOS 5.1.1 to fix various bugs including the loophole used to Jailbreak iOS 5.0.1. So, at this moment, there is no tethered Jailbreak available for iOS 5.1.1. If you have accidently updated your device to iOS 5.1.1 then you can follow the guide explained below to downgrade your iDevice to previous version iOS 5.0.1 or 5.0 to get an untethered Jailbreak.
Please Read the important Notes written below:
- You can’t downgrade until you have saved the SHSH blobs for the previous iOS version.
- If your iPhone relies on Ultrasn0w Unlock, you will need to create custom firmware file.

Pre-Requisites to Downgrade iOS 5.1.1 to 5.0.1 :
- Latest Version of Redsn0w for Windows [Download Here]
- Download iOS 5.1.1 for iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad [Click Here]
- Download iOS 5.0.1/5.0
How to do to Downgrade iOS 5.1.1 to 5.0.1 ?
Download the latest version of Redsn0w and unzip it to your Desktop. Right click on it and “Run as Administrator”
On the main screen, Click on “Extras”
Click on “SHSH Blobs”
Now, Select Stitch,
Select IPSW to which you want to downgrade, If you have already saved your SHSH blobs, than you can select Locally otherwise select the “Cydia” and Redsn0w will automatically retrieve the SHSH blobs from Cydia. Redsn0w will now create IPSW file.
Now go back and Put your Device in DFU mode, to do so, select “Pwned DFU” in “Extras”. Follow the on screen instructions carefully to put your device in DFU mode.
The next step is to make iTunes fool, and redirect it to contact it with the Cydia’s servers instead of the Apple server. To do so, open the following directory on your Windows PC.
Windows > System 32 > drivers > etc
Right Click on “Hosts” file and please select it to open with “Notepad”
At the end of this post, Enter the following text
74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com
Save this file. Now, Close everything and open up iTunes, Hit on “Restore button” While holding the “Shift” Button.
Select the IPSW which you have created using your SHSH blobs.
Sit back and wait, until iTunes finishes the restore process.
That’s it! You have successfully restored and Downgrade iOS 5.1.1 to 5.0.1 your iPhone 3Gs, 4G, iPod Touch 3G, 4G, or iPad to the previous version to enjoy the untethered Jailbreak.

i’ve done all of this but in the end an error appears on Itunes and says: “This ipod is not elegible”

when i try to stitch the 5.0.1 file for itouch 4, after clicking cydia it says that memory exhausted or stitching failed. then i tried to use itunes and shift+click the 5.0.1 file, That also didnt work. Please help
i am stuck in the part after stitch because after i select ipsw 5.0.1 for my itouch 4g ios5.1.1 the cydia thing doesnt come. so i put itouch in dfu mode but then cydia comes . when i click , however after loading it shows failure and memory unavailable and stuff like that every time. please help
